Many people experience great swings of emotion during various times of the year. Holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions are prime triggers for emotional highs and lows. Most of us have experienced these swings, and it is important to understand that if you do, you are not alone.
I am a believer in the notion that no matter how bad things are in the moment, when the moment passes, once you’ve navigated past it, everything is or will turn out for the best. I have experienced it more times than I can count, not that I want to count those times, yet I do know that because of all that I have gone through, I am better, stronger, wiser, smarter, and more positive than I was before. I am living proof that one can go from overwhelmed to overjoyed, from near death to more alive than ever. The most important point of it all is, I know that if I can do it, so can you.
Whether it is the loss of a loved one, a health crisis, a professional downturn, or a personal loss of any sort, how you navigate that event may be different than how someone else would, and it is important for you to honor however you do it. There are many others who have gone through similar situations who could help, and professionals who understand the process of grief and dealing with difficult, even overwhelming circumstances are always available as well.
What if I told you that you are given only what you can handle, and those who are the strongest may be given the greatest challenges. What I encourage you to understand, and what I know has helped me, is that with everything you have gone through already, and with the innate ability you have always had, there is nothing that you cannot overcome. Even more than that, I believe you have already proven that you have everything already inside of you to accomplish greatness. How cool is that?
